Everyone knows there's only one Santa, but last night Auckland was full of impersonators on the run.
930 Jolly red men, women and children of all shapes and sizes threw on their best festive outfits and running shoes for The Great New Zealand Santa Race around the Viaduct.
Raising money for KidsCan, the concept is simple - a 3km fun-run or walk in a Santa suit for an entry fee. Each entrant was given a Santa suit, but there were also elves, reindeer and other Christmas creatures spotted taking part, making for an entertaining sight as they ran around Auckland's waterfront.

The Great New Zealand Santa Run started as an Auckland-only event in 2008 but now happens at exactly the same date and time in Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, with Dunedin, Tauranga and Whangarei added this year.
